.......Boy or Girl......

Today we had a doctors appointment and Ultrasound! We were able to find out the gender of the baby! Unfortunately we will not be posting or making the announcement on here until Christmas when our families know! But We will share some pictures and tell of most of the experience!!

This Picture was while we were waiting to go into the ultrasound. I had a very full bladder, as I was told that I should so that we could get a better picture of the baby! I must say I don't ever recall my bladder ever being so full!! BUT it was well worth it!! OH and I have only gained one pound since my last visit! I was shocked..and it was probably all the fluid I was holding in :) But they said I'm fine..So a total of 3 pound gain from my normal weight! 5-10 is normal at this point.

The first thing the ultrasound tech said was "oh yes, your bladder is quite full...that makes my day". Apparently she likes it when the bladder is full! As you can see on my right arm they drew blood right before. I have actually never had that happen..Besides the IV for this pregnancy! How fun..

Here is the baby's profile! He/She was actually laying flat right before this picture was taken. It's like the baby knew we were going to take a picture and tried to pose by sticking its feet up in the air!As you can see the legs are up in air..as its laying there quite contently..After the picture the legs went back down!

During the ultrasound Brent was asking a few questions. The gal would stop with the thing just sitting in one spot. At one point the baby was looking away and as Brent spoke it turned its head as if it was looking directly at us. Off coarse the eyes are still closed..but it made it very real!

This is a picture of the Baby's face. If you look closely the black patch on the tummy, that is the heart.

We had such a good experience! We so excited for this Baby!!! We were able to see a lot..including a little thing that shows the blood that flows through the baby! How amazing it was to see everything that is happening with our baby!!! We can't wait to tell everyone!! They did say that everything looks good and is developing right from what they can see. Stay tuned for the update!!!

Mom & Netta Visit

Mom and Netta came to visit this week. It was nice to spend some time with them. I'm really glad that they could come. Of coarse they picked the best weekend!! This week as you might know it decided to snow---in full force!

Well Our weekend started late Friday night. We stayed up till midnight chatting and decided what to do with out Saturday! I probably would have gotten more pictures if the weather had permitted. So Saturday morning there was quit a bit of snow on the ground. Thank you to Justin and Jamie who allowed mom and Netta to bring up a pair of their old snow tires for our car. Its been nice this last couple of days. There is a sense of security with them. So we took the car to Les Swab..than headed to the Temple. We went through 9:00 session.

We tried getting some pictures..If you can tell our hair and dresses are going everywhere. The wind was blowing quite a bit of snow around! Burr....

So Brent and I hadn't set up our Christmas tree yet. Before I knew it Mom and Netta had pulled it out and as you can see started putting it up. Needless to say..all of our Christmas decorations are up. We some shopping during the day. It was pretty much just freezing though so we didn't go far!

Jesse and Teagen came down to spend some time with us all. When Brent got home from work it was pretty funny cause the boys gathered around the fish tank. Brent was sticking a string with something on the end of it..trying to catch one of the fish.

Jesse and Teagen opened an early Christmas present..I couldn't resist..Jesse in his finest moment rubbing moms ears..Haha..She wasn't to excited about me taking a picture..but before the picture she actually looked like she was enjoying it!

Well Sunday morning came...we went to sacrament than came home finished up the roast and headed to Idaho Falls to have dinner there. Brent hasn't been feeling well (getting a flu bug) so I went alone. We ate and I was off..Leaving mom and Netta to stay the night with Jesse tonight. They will be heading home in the morning.!! Thanks for the gifts mom and dad! and Netta to driving up here for a fun cold adventure!!! We miss your guy's company already!

16 Weeks 4 Days

I figured it was time to make another post of how my tummy is growing. Yes, it seems like it is actually looking more like I'm pregnant now. Although I must say, some people still can't notice. This girl at work did not know I was pregnant until yesterday when I announced we find out next week the Gender! Merry Christmas to us!!

Now of coarse these cloths are to show the definition of the tummy. You don't see me wearing this everyday. So its understandable that people don't really notice! :)

FYI: all the couples on Brents side of the family either had a baby this last month or are expecting. His Brother Chris and his wife just had a baby girl Nov 7th. Sister Nicole- Had a baby girl Dec 3. Sister Carrie- Is expecting Twin Baby girls like 3-4 weeks before I am due! 5 new Grandbabies for Papa and Nana Carver all within 6 months of each other!! So we will see if we are like the others and have a Girl...or my like sister Julie-who is expecting a baby Boy on Feb 23 (my birthday might I add!) None-the-less we don't mind! We just pray it is healthy!

We are sooo excited for next week! Although... most of our family will not know the gender until Christmas! Ha ha we'll see what happens when I step on the scale for this months check up!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

This morning we woke up to a couple inches of snow on the ground. It snowed for a couple hours in the morning than stopped. It was beautiful but I will admit not fun to drive in...

I know that more will come but its fun to be somewhere where the snow will actually stick!

One Year Anniversary

On Sunday November 30 it was our One Year mark. Time has really flown by. It feels like it was just yesterday that our family and friends were gathered around us in the beautiful temple. This last year I have learned a lot of new things about Brent and also about life. As I'm sure that Brent could also say the same. Its amazing what an eternal marriage can do for someone. I feel so blessed to be sealed to Brent for time and eternity and to be starting our family. What an exciting thing in life to have someone to grow old with.

Brent and I didn't do too much for our anniversary. We did go to the Olive Garden and took our rings into the jeweler to get re-dipped. We were traveling home from Boise on Sunday. When Brent and I got home Brent went strait to the freezer to pull out the top of our wedding cake. I was surprised knowing that Brent is not much of a cake fan. Needless to say we still have not tried a piece. Kinda scared its going to taste gross.

We are still on our journey...Here's to the years ahead...

Here is the top of our cake. Its a little flattened in some spots but other than that it looks pretty good!

We just really want to say thanks to everyone and their support. We really appreciate everything that everyone has done for us this past year. We love you all!!!

The Andersons come to visit

This last weekend the Anderson family came for a visit! It was so nice to visit and too see their little family!

Here is the princess Kaydree, she is such a sweet little girl. She brought her princess toys. I loved her cute little sweater and hat!

And for the first time...about 9 months later, we get to meet baby Carver! He has the biggest blue eyes and is such a good boy. He's so happy and was very cuddly(he was sleepy)

We have not seen the Anderson's since January when it was our reception in Texas. Carrie was still pregnant with Carver. It was nice to see them and to finally meet the famous Carver we've heard so much about! Thanks for coming to visit Ryan and Carrie!!

12 weeks 5 days

So This week my tummy decided to just pooch out...Now no one can still really tell but I sure can. So we just took this picture. Going on 13 weeks! Its crazy time is passing by really fast. Tomorrow I have my second Dr's appointment. Not sure what they will do..probably just tell me I'm getting fat! I feel like I just ate one two many cookies. But an update on the morning sickness. I still rely on those pills to get me through the day. Taking prenatles pills is very hard so I try to take them at night right before bed..but I'm still throwing up when I wake up and sometimes at night..but I think it may be getting a little better. I havn't had enough guts to try it without the meds..So we'll see. Well more updates to come!!

A little visitor

This last May when we lived in Nampa we had decided to get a kitten. It was free and we thought that we would enjoy some company. It became our little pall. A few months later when we moved in with my parents the kitten was able to come along with us. Of coarse my parents don't have animals inside the house so this was a transition for our little kitten to learn to be outside and be with Buck my parents dog. Well, he adjusted quite well. Buck and him were best palls. When we moved to Rexburg we decided to leave this little ball of fur with my parents. He would help keep mice away and he loved being outside. Although we were attached we knew he would rather be outside than stuck inside a little apartment. He became quite the pest. Just always trying to have fun..chasing after anyone's feet and nipping at you if you tried to touch him. But needless to say he was still a pretty good cat. After about a month of being in Rexburg(hearing about his little episodes here and there from my parents) i hadn't heard anything for about a week. So I asked my mom how he was doing. Well she informed me that he had been ran over the night before. Although our hearts broke for this little kitten that we had, we knew everything was OK. Brent especially had this special thing for the cat. He gets that way with pets or things he has.

About a week later, last night this little visitor showed up outside our door. Brent immediately got some food for it. At first we were a little hesitant because here is a stray, and stray cats usually are just well you know...gross and very spooked. Not this one. He warmed up to us very fast. We fed him a little(knowing he would probably be back for more food) and left to the store. When we got back he was just sitting there waiting for us. So Brent brought him in. He was very cuddly. I didn't touch him too much cause it seemed strange. But it filled a part of Brent that he has been missing for a while. He just loves animals.

Usually I really don't like callico cats, but he actually had some pretty unique features that made him cute...

Brent brought him and and he fell asleep in his lap.

So after all, it was a little adventure to have him visit. Last night our neighbors took part in giving food to him and putting out a blanket for him. This morning he was outside when we went to church. Brent pet him and he rubbed right up on him as if he knew exactly who Brent was. We havn't seen him since but i'm sure he'll be back. Brent keeps looking out the door for him...he's like a little boy looking for his lost puppy. Haha its cute. So thats our little cat story. I know alot of people don't like cats(mm my brothers) but we are some that do...

Morning sickness is getting old...

I'm embarrassed to post this but it must be said. I have been so so lazy this week. So our little apartment has felt like a huge house mess to keep up with. Laundry takes forever for us to do, dishes, everything...It is sad. Brent will stay up and clean but its like the next day everything is back to the way it was before he cleaned. Part of the reason is I just don't feel well enough to pick up after myself. Its crazy..I'm never like this. I usually have to have everything clean!...its so frustrating!. So today I was actually feeling like doing something. So this is what our lovely little kitchen looked like before..

And than after....Its just so frustrating. I'm so sick of being sick!.I cann't wait for this whole morning sickness to get even a little better to were I least will not be so relient on those dang pills. Anyways...Brent helps me so much as is..I just feel so useless some days...Just glad the kitchen is clean for the moment..I'm just waiting for tommarow when I will be seeing the first picture again!

Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday Jesse brought Teagen over to carve pumpkins with us. (Jori wasn't feeling well so she stayed home) It was so nice to have them come visit though. We had a blast! Its nice being able to hang out with the Laws up here. On our way to get the pumpkins Jesse informed us he hadn't carved a pumpkin in 12 years!!! We were impressed though with his results!

Tegean all ready to go and get some pumpkins!

He was walking stiff legged to the car. He's silly!

To go and get a pumpkin you had to walk under this huge blow-up black cat.

Brent trying to find the perfect pumpkin
Jesse and Teagen found theirs...

There it is...He found it! Pretty much your choice of pumpkin was large or Huge!

Finding some cool carving knives to use...
Cutting away at the pumpkins
Ha ha you gotta love the slimy feel of the inside of a pumpkin!
Teagen was a little nervous to stick his hand in the pumpkin..so he decided to just feel the seeds instead that were already out. He pulled his hand away just about as fast as he touched it.
Examining how to draw the face...
Teagen wanted his daddy to do a "happy face". Dad convinced him to do a scary because than it would scare people when they came trick-or-treating!
Here's Teagens view of what the pumpkin will look like!
Pretty close eh...??
Here is Brents. He decided to go with the happy face...It seemed fitting for the time.
The boys with their pumpkins! Thanks for coming Jess...we had a blast!

The joy of Morning Sickness

The past couple weeks morning sickness has really taken its toll on me. Over the last 3 days I haven't really been able to keep anything in my stomach. It finally got to the point were I just felt so helpless. The doctors prescribed me three different medications to help try and relieve it. All failed, as did little home remedies we heard to try. So Brent took me into the doctor and they did some tests finding I was pretty dehydrated. They decided to put me on an IV. They got us a good deal on the best medicine ever...Zofran. The doctor made a funny joke that "The baby must really like it in me cause its making me soo sick." I wish it didn't like it that much! But i guess its a good thing!

They left me with an IV in my arm, taped me up, and sent me on my way after pumping me up with some good stuff...

Brent was assigned the job of flushing out my IV every 8 Hours...here he goes. He felt powerful with that needle!

And there it is after all is said and done. Its lovely I know...

So there is the fun of my pregnancy experience thus far! We'll see how the next seven months go!
