Hallies First Bath

Hallie Finally lost her umbilical cord and could have a bath! Like the boys, she of coarse loved it! I love the way the water totally relaxes babies. Of coarse the boys couldn't wait to take a bath with sister too! I will say that them bathing with her will probably not be happening often. Jackson is actually enjoying a quick shower now days.

Grandma Grandpa Birthday weekend

This last weekend my brothers came to Boise to visit for my parents Birthday parties. The Boys had tons of fun playing with the cousins. And Hallie loved the snuggles

Last week while in the hospital Grandma and the boys made a fort outside. The kids were out there till dark playing and riding bikes down the hill. Josh even showed off some cool tricks for them

March

Jackson thinks its summer time with the nice sunny days! While we are all trying to adjust to little Miss Hallie, the boys have been enjoying outside- in the back yard. The other day they thought it would be fun to have a picnic on the play set.

We also had to say goodbye to our neighbors. This is a sad time for all of us. Hollie and Brandon were the best neighbors we have ever had. It is already feeling really lonely without them. Jackson has already said countless times "....well if Paxton were here..." I think each day it is becoming more real as the boys are not able to just run over and play with their friends. Needless to say, we do wish them the best of luck and we hope some more nice people can move in!

1st fishing trip this year

For FHE we went to throw rocks at the river. I happened to have Jacksons fishing pole in the back of the car from him fishing earlier that day with Grandpa (but we had no bait, just a single hook). Brent decided they would try to catch something. He tried using a grasshopper and nothing. They were coming back to the car when a bee tried to fly in. He killed and and put that on the line. Sure enough they caught a small trout. Jackson was so excited. Brent threw it back into the water so that Charlie could reel it in too. True fisherman right there!

Hallie Elizabeth Carver

For those interested in her Birth story here it is! This is what I wrote for my memory so please excuse random thoughts thrown in and bouncing around in the story. Or just feel free to skip it all and enjoy the pictures!
Friday 3-14-14 38 weeks 4 days: 1:30 AM started having hard contractions. Got ready and Headed to the Hospital.
3:30 checked into Labor and Delivery at a 4 and 65%. Contractions were about 3 min apart so they sent me walking for an hour. 4:30 AM I was checked again and was only at a 4 ½. They went ahead and admitted me since my contractions were staying regular. 5:30AM they got me to my Room. They ordered the epidural and at 7:30 they said I could have one. Before I got one I had them check me because I didn’t want the epidural to slow down my contractions. I was still a 4 ½ after regular contractions. I decided to wait on the epidural and get in the Jacuzzi.  Dr. West came in to see me at 8A.M. He suggested we break my water. So we went ahead and broke it. Immediately after my pains got way stronger and I was ready for my epidural. At 8:30 my epidural was complete.  At 9 Am she checked me and I was at a 6 still going strong! At 10 Am I asked her to check me again and I was there, at a 10 and ready to push. Dr. West got there right away and I started to push. I pushed 3 times per contraction. Baby girl was face up so Dr got her facing the right way. My very last push at 10:27 baby flipped over and came out head first.(giving me 2 small “skid marks” on the outside)  Dr West let me lift her onto my chest; she was wide eyed and staring at Daddy not crying. As I laid her on my Chest Dr. West said “she’s no bigger than 6 pounds, in fact I’m going to say 5 lbs 15oz.” (He wasn’t there to see her weighed but he was right on!!)We didn’t have a name picked out for this little girl. We liked Aubrey and Alexis the most. Allie had once been in the running but hadn’t really been brought up. I was holding her and Brent asked me what I was feeling. I asked what he was and he told me to say first. I said “she seems like an Allie”- Brent followed with that was what he was feeling. We kinda discussed it and decided to go with Hallie. It fit her perfectly. I could feel that we were both inspired to name her this beautiful name.  Hallie was beautiful. I cried of coarse when she was born. She was here, she was healthy, and it was a Girl, a princess. As Brent held her I could see his heart opening and love filling his eyes. She is truly a little angel, daughter of Heavenly father. I’m so grateful Heavenly Father chose us to be her parents. Things slowed down a bit after that. Grandma Jeannie and Netta brought the boys to visit. At first they were a little nervous. They weren’t too sure about her. The instant Jackson held her his face lit up and you could see it in his eyes that he fell in love. He couldn’t stop kissing her and rubbing his face up against her. Charlie was more nervous. Hallie was just below normal for her gestational age in birth weight. They explained that they would have to draw her blood 3 more times to make sure her blood sugar levels were good. They like the levels to be at 45 or higher. Her first read was 48. (later followed by 53, 64, and 87)She couldn’t have a bath until she had all of her measurements good. We were able to go to our room and start getting settled in. Josh came to visit and Jamie brought baby J by to see his reaction to Hallie. Later that afternoon Grandpa came. Brent went home with the boys to try to keep some routine down.   Hallie was than able to have a bath and for the first time I went in with one of our babies. (this is usually daddy’s thing).  Hallie loves to sleep.  I had to make sure to wake and feed her every 4 hours or else they would have to draw her blood again. She threw up amniotic fluid 3 times that night. (And since day 4, thrown up every night. Dr thinks it is because something isn’t quite developed)  Brent came back in the morning around 11 to pick us up. Dee Dee had just come to visit, so we visited. I had just taken my second dose of Norco when I started feeling really dizzy and sick. We didn’t go home as soon as we thought because I wasn’t feeling up to it. So we left the hospital around 4:30 PM. Hallie checked out good and weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces.  We brought her home and got settled. Grandma Jeannie brought the boys home and they spent the night loving on her! At Hallies Dr Appointment on Monday she checked in at 5 pounds 12 ounces.
